Mills and Flemish Hills
This circuit will show you that "The flat country" sung by Jacques Brel is not devoid of relief, whis its chain of mountains streching from Watten to Mont ROuge in Belgium, via its peak: Cassel.
You will discover windmills renovated: there werre hundreds, used to grind grain, but also to press the seeds that provided oil, such as linseed and rapeseed. Others windmills, in the maritime part of FLanders were used to regulate the water level.
Flanders and its residents also enjoy holidays: carnivals, "ducasse" (small fairground), Giants procession... Some traditions and gastronomy to discover in Cassel and Bergues pubs and restaurants with their traditional yesteryear decor.
